Open House Public Meeting — April 8, 2026
The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) invites the public to attend an Open House Public Meeting for the IL 50 Kankakee Study.
The purpose of the meeting is to introduce the Phase I project corridor, present existing conditions, and share preliminary improvement alternatives along IL 50 from south of Brookmont Boulevard to Jeffery Street in Kankakee. Community members will have an opportunity to learn more about the project and provide feedback to the project team.

What to Expect
This meeting will be held in an open house format. There will be no formal presentation. At the meeting, attendees can: ​ Review project exhibits and maps Learn about existing corridor conditions View preliminary alternatives Watch a continuous audio-visual presentation Speak one-on-one with representatives from IDOT and the project team Provide written comments Exhibits will be available throughout the meeting, and project team members will be on hand to answer questions.
